PAUL AND LORI STRONG, Co-Founders of Parenting With Purpose, are committed believers with compassionate hearts to minister to families affected by the incarceration of a loved one. Their 30 plus years’ experience of working with people from different cultures and beliefs enables them, together with their faithful staff and volunteers, to address issues facing fathers, mothers, and children in a variety of situations.
MIKE BRASS, Board Chair is a Vice President in the Brokerage Services Division of Colliers International with 25 years of experience in leasing, tenant representation, sales of industrial and office properties, as well as development projects for land. Mike has held a member position on the Parenting With Purpose board of directors since 1996 was the first “Brother’s Keeper.” He also serves on the board of the White Bear Lake Economic Development Corporation, and is a member of Vadnais Heights Economic Development Corporation, and founder and co-chair of the 1990 Winterfest in White Bear Lake.
Wayne Sharp, Board Vice Chair is retired from the computer industry, which includes 13 years with IBM, and later, as owner of P.O.S. Business Systems from 1983 through 2006 which he grew to one of the largest Point of Sale Dealers in the country. During this time, he was active in the Point of Sale Industry, serving on the National Board for the industry association and on manufacturer advisory boards. He has also been on the board of several non-profit and Christian-based organizations. Although “retired,” he is still active in sailboat charters, real estate buying, remodeling, rental, and sales with his son. As a Coast Guard Captain, Wayne occasionally works as Charter Captain, and does training and delivery of yachts. He is active in his church in Florida, and has been involved with Parenting with Purpose since 1996.
LISA BRASS, Board Secretary is a commercial real estate agent for Colliers International with 15 years experience in retail management and customer service. She has served on PWP’s board since 1997. Lisa has utilized her business, management and organizational skills in fundraising, coordinating events and design of PWP promotional materials.
WILLIAM CORN, Board Treasurer currently is the Manager of Customer Financial Solutions for 3M Company, a US multinational innovation and manufacturing company. William has previously served as a Board Chair and/or Board Member for other non-profit and community organizations such as FORIUS/NACM North Central, Minnesota Center for EBD Training & Support and various athletic organizations. William supports various community organizations and events through organizing and connecting the business community to the service community. William’s efforts have benefitted PWP’s holiday and back-to-school resource drives. William brings to the PWP Board his strengths in organizational development and vision realization.
RAMON HARRIS, Board Member operates a clothing business, New Creation, with his wife. He has served on PWP’s board since 1999. He and his wife are very active in their church in Robbinsdale. Ramon also is employed by Robbinsdale School District 281 and has worked with youth for many years within the schools and in his church. Ramon has also volunteered many hours to work with youth from the inner‐city and at Robbinsdale Cooper High School for Parenting With Purpose.
WAYNE WILSON, Board Member, retired as marketing manager after 35 years with Honeywell‐International. He has been a board member and volunteer at PWP since 2000. Wayne leads the Men’s Ministry at his home church, Mount Olivet, where he also leads Bible studies. He is skilled in networking and bringing people together to provide assistance to families in need. As a board member of the Global Citizen’s Network from 1998‐present, Wayne leads groups on building projects and works to build relations in Native American and Canadian reservations, and in Tanzania, Africa. Wayne also serves as board board chair for Community Solutions for Africa’s Development (COSAD Inc.) working to bring economic independence to this impoverished community.
TOM WICK, Board Member, is the Sales and Marketing Manager for Leaders Manufacturing, an abrasive products manufacturer located in Willmar. Tom leads the international sales effort for the company’s three divisions. He has been a board member for PWP for the last four years and leads the Fundraising Committee. Tom has been a member of Christian Business Mens Connection for 29 years, and has a passion for connecting to men in the marketplace.
